Why Version Control Exists: The Pendrive Problem

lets imagine a scenario if we have to develop an application.
we are 3 developers with different task to do and we have to make a single application so what is the way to collabrate and to be sync
before the version control software exists are are having a system or we can say to do that and that is pendrive (local disk) to do that .
one developer lets say build a feature and other developer has to see what he has builded then the first have to give that disk to 2nd develoeper to see that and start working further to build . but the first developer didnt know what he has builded when the thing developer build the feature and then he got to know okk the 2nd has build this and the 3rd one this _______________ what is the problme exsits?
the problem is that there is not centralized system by which we can see ok this has builded this and i have to build this what if there is a centralized place to do that and here comes the remote thing in the picture called as git remote server and we got many of them we have: github , gitlab, aws’s , bitbucket etc
what they solve a problem they host they git and make a centralized remote thing so that all the developers can see the changes in sync and there is all time a remote folder/repo all time present for the people who want to start or see the changes or clone or to contribute.
